Local.ch Releases Beta API

Via Le Joe’s blog, Local.ch has released an API to some of their data. Only cities are available for now.
What it means: very limited for now but a sure sign that local search sites all over the world are finally understanding that they need to open up some of their data to allow mash-ups. You want to become part of the “grain” of the Web if you want to be successful in the future.

It is a fine balance - an open API vs an XML port (ala paid) - keeping both ‘happy’ ain’t fun
